The Consultation Process
Every breast lift begins with a private and thorough consultation. During your appointment, Dr. Rankin or Dr. Deziel will discuss your goals and examine your breasts and medical history. They’ll also evaluate factors such as skin quality, breast position, nipple placement, and overall breast volume to determine whether a breast lift alone is your best option or if you could benefit from a complementary procedure.
About the Procedure
Breast lift surgery is typically performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.
During the procedure, excess skin is removed and the underlying breast tissue is reshaped to create a firmer, more defined contour. The surgeon will also reposition the nipples and areolas to a higher location on the breast.
The exact incision pattern will depend on the amount of lifting required. Some patients may only need a small incision around the areola, while others benefit from a vertical or anchor-shaped incision to achieve the best long-term results.
The surgery itself takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the surgery and whether additional procedures are being performed.
Recovering from Breast Lift Surgery
The First Few Days
Mild soreness, swelling, and bruising are normal after breast lift surgery. Because of this, some patients wear a surgical bra to support the breasts during the initial healing period. Most discomfort is manageable with prescribed medication and gradually improves during the first week. Light walking is encouraged shortly after surgery to promote circulation, but strenuous activity should be avoided.
Returning to Daily Life

Follow-Up Appointments
