What to Expect with Breast Revision Surgery
The Consultation Process
Your breast revision begins with a detailed consultation. Dr. Rankin or Dr. Deziel will discuss your concerns, review your medical history, and examine your breasts and existing implants. If possible, they’ll review records from your previous surgery to better understand the implant type and technique used. Your consultation may also involve high-resolution imaging or ultrasound if a silicone rupture is suspected.

About the Procedure
Breast revision is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, and typically takes between 2 and 4 hours depending on the complexity of the procedure.
No two revision surgeries are exactly alike, but depending on your treatment plan, your surgeon may remove and replace your implants, perform a capsulectomy to remove scar tissue, create a new implant pocket, reinforce the breast with internal support, or perform a breast lift to improve breast position and shape. Recovery
The First Few Days

There’s no set expiration date for breast implants, and they don’t need to be replaced automatically if you’re symptom free and happy with your look. However, many women choose to replace or revise their implants within 10 to 15 years due to lifestyle changes, natural tissue aging, or implant wear.
