Non-Surgical Options for Brighter-Looking Eyes
Posted on March 20, 2017
At Aqua Plastic Surgery, Drs. David Rankin and Dev Vibhakar offer a wide selection of cosmetic options to enhance the beauty of the eyes. While surgical procedures like eyelid surgery and brow lift certainly produce great results, many patients are understandably not ready to go under the knife in order to rejuvenate their look. For this reason, Aqua Plastic Surgery is pleased to provide several minimally invasive treatments that can restore a rested and attractive appearance to the eyes. Here, our doctors share their recommendations on the best non-invasive procedures for the eyes.
Botox
Botox continues to be the most popular of all non-surgical procedures, and for good reason. The injectable treatment temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles in order to smooth out creases, wrinkles and fine lines on the overlying skin. Botox is a great option for the branching wrinkles that form around the outer corners of the eyes, which are commonly known as crow’s feet.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are another temporary solution for wrinkles and lines, including those around the eyes. These injectable fillers have an additional benefit in that they restore volume to facial areas that have become sunken or hollow over time, including the under-eye area. With a dermal filler treatment, you can expect a fuller and more youthful-looking appearance. Aqua Plastic Surgery offers several dermal filler treatments and our team can advise you on which one is best for you during your initial consultation.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is a revolutionary treatment that works from the inside out to produce healthier, younger-looking skin. The treatment uses laser energy to eliminate dull, dead skin layers, in turn stimulating the body’s production of collagen. This creates a new layer of fresh, radiant skin. Laser skin resurfacing addresses a multitude of skin concerns including fine lines, wrinkles and acne. It can also treat dark spots and uneven skin tone and texture around the eyes.
Tips for Your Everyday Beauty Routine
The right beauty regimen and habits can do wonders to your appearance. Dr. Rankin recommends these easy tips to preserve the youth of your eyes:
• Sleep for seven to eight hours a night
• Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on your facial skin, including around your eyes
• Avoid rubbing your eyes and tugging the skin around your eyes
• Don’t smoke
• Wear sunglasses with 100 percent UV protection (wraparound style is best)
• Gently wash your makeup off before going to bed
• Only use medical-grade skin care products to moisturize your skin (we can advise you on which is best for your skin care type)
